We hear Insurance Score vs Credit Score thrown around quite a bit in regards to insurance premiums.
It’s important to understand two main points from the beginning.
First, in New York State insurance carriers are allowed to use information from your credit report to determine premiums.
Second, insurance score is a completely separate number from credit score, these two terms CANNOT be used interchangeably.
In essence insurance score is a derivative of your credit report. Additionally, your insurance score is going to be different with each insurance carrier.
